Israel Nachfolger, RN, ASN, BS, NR-EMTP

Owner & CEO

Israel brings a unique mix of clinical and operational experience to Pinnacle, having worked in healthcare as both a practitioner and in various administration roles for over a decade. In addition to his role as CEO, Israel continues to practice as a Registered Nurse and volunteer Paramedic while managing multiple Skilled Nursing Facilities on the East Coast.

Israel lives in the foothills of the Ramapo Mountains in the Hudson Valley in Monsey, NY with his wife, Miriam, and 6 children. An avid lover of music, Israel enjoys honing his skills as a musician at the piano and practicing his passion as a recording engineer in his free time.

Cheryl Lancaster

Administrator

Cheryl Lancaster has over twenty years of experience in the residential and long-term care field. Cheryl comes from a long line of care givers; her Grandparents, aunts, parents and siblings have worked in the healthcare industry. Her passion for serving the Senior Community was formed young and strengthened as she grew. Cheryl started her career in 1997 working for her family business and acquired her Residential Care Administrator’s license in 2001. Cheryl served as the Administrator for several Residential Care facilities then as a Nursing Home Administrator at Bridgton Health Care Center after receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration and obtaining her Nursing Home Administrator’s license.

Cheryl joined Pinnacle Health and Rehabilitation at North Berwick in November 2018. She has dedicated herself to enhancing the quality of life and meeting the changing needs of the residents and staff she serves. She is proud of the culture of family and compassion staff have created at Pinnacle North Berwick.

Cheryl lives in Durham with her husband Tim and spends her free time gardening, reading, spending time with family and friends, or going to camp when she has the opportunity.

Alison Bourn, BSN, RN

Director of Nursing

Alison started her career 33 years ago as a resident aide. She became a Certified Nursing Assistant in 1987 before testing was in place. Alison has since moved up the nursing ladder and has just completed her Bachelor’s Degree. Alison has worked in numerous nursing roles such as labor and delivery, unit manager, office nursing, Director of Nursing, staff development and infection control. Alison has also earned multiple certificates including Breast Feeding, Infection Preventist, NRP, and PALS.

Alison and her husband Eric live in New Hampshire and have four amazing children ages 23, 20, 19, and 8. When she is not at work, Alison enjoys being with her kids, cooking family dinners, camping and traveling using her time shares.

Katherine Rothaus

Activities Director

Kathy has been employed as our Activities Director since October of 2009, first for Varney Crossing and currently for Pinnacle of N. Berwick. She received her Activities Coordinator Certificate from Portland Adult Education, studying under Meredith Eldridge, a lady whose career spanned more than thirty years in Senior Activities.
Kathy and her team bring meaningful programs to their residents including weekly music from local entertainers, bus outings to many local destinations, arts & crafts, gardening, and the majority’s favorite, games of bingo!
Kathy resides in Acton. She has one daughter and one grandson who live on the West Coast. In her spare time, Kathy enjoys kayaking, gardening, and sewing.

Sarah Delaney, OTR/L, CDP, CEAS I

Director of Rehabilitation

Sarah Delaney is an Occupational Therapist with experience in skilled nursing facilities, home health, and acute care settings. She has worked in the states of Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine, and is thrilled to be back home in ‘The Berwicks.’ Sarah has a passion for working with the geriatric population, especially those who have Dementia. She is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and also a Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist.

Sarah enjoys spending time at the lake, biking in the neighborhood, and being with family. She lives with her husband and their two cats, Shakespeare and Moo.

Phyllis Gagnon, LSW, LPN

Social Services Director/Admissions Coordinator

Healthcare has been Phyllis’s focus since beginning as a CNA in 1977. Phyllis received her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse from New Hampshire Vocational Technical College in 1979, and then became a Licensed Social Worker. Both skills are of great benefit in Phyllis’s duel role as Social Services Director and Admissions Coordinator at Pinnacle North Berwick.

Phyllis has worked at Pinnacle for over twenty years, and has built collaborative partnerships with area hospitals, discharge planners, and community partners for continuity of care throughout this time. Phyllis is the coordinator of the York/Cumberland Social Work Group, a collaborative group of peers who also actively participate with Maine Health Care Association.

Phyllis and her husband Ron reside in Sanford on a 60 acre “family farm.” They have three sons, three grandchildren, and two cats. In her free time Phyllis enjoys gardening, walking on the beach, and is an avid New England sports fan, but most of all family visits are her most favorite.

Bruce Therrien

Maintenance Director

Bruce started at Pinnacle North Berwick in February 2014 having transferred from our sister facility in Sanford. Prior to that, Bruce worked for a tannery for twenty years after serving in the Navy for seven years.
Bruce enjoys working on his property and golfing in his spare time. He lives in Sanford with his lovely wife Jen in Sanford.

Susan Franz

Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor

Fresh out of high school, Susan discovered that cleaning was her thing. She spent several years early on, working in the hotel industry cleaning rooms. In her 20s and 30s, Susan spent time as a housekeeper and O.R. Technician at York Hospital and parted ways there as an O.R. Technician. From there, Susan took on the adventure of working for herself doing commercial and residential cleaning. After learning that being her own boss was not for her, Susan began her journey as Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor here at Pinnacle in 2020.
Susan am a hardworking wife and mother of two, who believes that pride is not gained from the work you take, it is gained from the pride you take in the work you do.

R. Spencer Page

Food Service Director

R. Spencer Page has over 30 years of experience as a Food Service Director, Certified Dietary Manager, serving over 17 years of those at Pinnacle Health and Rehabilitation at North Berwick. Spencer enjoys cooking for others and believes that the residents are his boss. Spencer’s homemade chowder has won the Judge’s Choice and/or the People’s Choice award for the Maine Children’s Cancer Program every year for the past twenty-three years.

Cathy Liscomb

Business Office Manager

Cathy began working at Pinnacle Health and Rehabilitation at North Berwick in 2009. After high school she went on to college to pursue her degree in Business Management. Cathy started her career at the University of Maine System in Sanford, Maine as an Administrator Associate. She enjoyed her 20 years with the University of Maine System managing the finances, day to day operations and performed ongoing projects and tasks with her Administrator and other University departments across the state. Cathy wanted a new challenge and accepted the Business Office Manager position with Pinnacle at North Berwick, which she enjoys and finds fulfilling.

She and her husband live in Kennebunk with their very loved cat and dog.
